Haya calls on supporters to help UN

HRH Princess Haya Bint Al Hussein of Jordan, a United Nations Messenger of Peace, has called in a televised message to the public to give donations to the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). The call comes to help hundreds of thousands of people in Pakistan who live in shelters who have escaped from conflicts between Government forces and militants in the North West Frontier Province.

“Millions have been forced to leave, abandoning their homes, their communities and their loved ones,” said Princess Haya. “They arrive needing everything: shelter, food, and medical care.” The UNHCR said that it is seeking to expand camps, the UNHCR also needs hundreds of millions of dollars to help. Princess Haya said, “Only with your help, can UNHCR revive hope, assist with shelter and meet other basic needs. Please help UNHCR.”
