Qatar’s Crown Prince in South Korea
Qatar’s Crown Prince Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani is in South Korea for a two-day official visit to boost diplomatic and economic ties. Sheikh Tamim is scheduled to hold talks with President Lee Myung-bak, Prime Minister Han Seung-soo to discuss ways to strengthen ties in various fields from politics to culture, Sheikh Tamim will also meet with other government officials.
Qatar is the world’s largest supplier of liquefied natural gas and the fifth-largest oil supplier for Korea. It is also the number one export destination for Korean-built LNG carriers.
“This is an important landmark and a special milestone in our relationship,” said Qatar Ambassador Ali Hamad Mubarak Al-Marri while talking to The Korea Herald.
