Belgian State Visit to Luxembourg – Day Two

Today, Wednesday October 16, Their Majesties King Philippe and Queen Mathilde started their second day in Luxembourg with a separate program. In the morning the King, along with Grand Duke Henri, visited the the Diekirch Military Centre. After the review of the troops it was paid a tribute to the deceased army personnel by laying a wreath of flowers in front of the commemorative plaque.
Then the king and the Grand Duke visited the Société Européenne des Satellites, the world’s leading provider of satellite telecommunications services.
In the meantime Queen Mathilde, accompanied by Hereditary Grand Duchess Stéphanie, went to the Belval Campus of the University of Luxembourg to attend a seminary focused on medical technology and innovation followed by a meeting with Belgian and Luxembourgish academics focused on research projects in the field of digital and mental healthcare as well as innovative treatment methods. The Queen and Hereditary Grand Duchess also visited the Luxembourg Learning Centre.
At lunchtime the King and the Queen were reunited to attend a luncheon hosted by the Luxembourgish Government.
In the afternoon the Royal Couple, accompanied by the Grand Duke went to Neumünster Abbey where took place a symposium on spatial collaboration between Belgium and Luxembourg followed by a conference on audiovisual collaboration between Belgium and Luxembourg.
Then the King, the Queen and the Grand Duke paid a visit to the photographic exhibition about an event focused to end sexual violence in fragile environments and organized by the Foundation of the Grand Duchess.
In the evening the Royal Couple hosted a concert at the Philharmonie de Luxembourg at the presence of the Grand Duke, Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume and Hereditary Grand Duchess Stéphanie.
