Duchess of Cambridge surprises childrens centre
The Duchess of Cambridge made a surprise visit to the Sunshine House in Peckham, a voluntary programme offering home visit to young mothers.
The programme pairs trained nurses with young mothers up to the age of 24 from their early pregnancy until their child is two years of age. Kate chatted to mothers and staff privately about how they have been helped by the programme, which was founded in 2007.
The programme, FNP, is based in 70 areas across England and has specially trained nurses and staff in each local team. Kate visited Peckham’s branch as patron of the Evelina Children’s Hospital, who help with the South London branches.
