Belgian Official Visit to the German Federal States of Thuringia and Saxony-Anhalt: Last Day
Yesterday, Wednesday July 10, Their Majesties King Philippe and Queen Mathilde started their second and last day of the official visit in the town of Wittemberg, in Saxony-Anhalt.
The Royal Couple was welcomed in front of the Wittenberg Old Town Hall by Reiner Haseloff, Minister-President of the German state Saxony-Anhalt.
Then the King and the Queen paid a visit to the house of Martin Luther and the Castle Church, at whose door Luther struck more than 500 years ago his 95 theses that started the Protestant Reformation.
In the afternoon King Philippe and Queen Mathilde visited the Bauhaus Institute, the Meisterhauser of Walter Gropius and the Klee / Kandinsky House in Dessau. They were welcomed by the Bauhaus director Claudia Perren and Peter Kuras, Lord Mayor of Dessau-Roßla.
Afterwards the Royal Couple visited the Belgian investment of DOMO Caproleuna where they visited the Infra Leuna, the largest chemistry site in Germany. The King and the Queen toured the chemical site and were informed about its history and development.
