Dutch Working Visit to the German Federal States of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and Brandenburg: Last Day

Today, Wednesday May 22, Their Majesties King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima started their third and last day of the working visit with the official reception by the Prime Minister of Brandenburg Dietmar Woidke and his wife at the State Chancellery of Brandenburg in Potsdam.
Then the Royal Couple paid a visit to the Albert Einstein Science Park which includes the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK), the German Research Center for Geosciences (GFZ) and the Alfred Wegener Institute for Polar and Marine Research.
During the visit were discussed topics like geothermal energy, underground energy storage and the ecological, economic and social consequences of climate change and then the PIK and the Free University of Amsterdam and the GFZ and the Technical University of Delft signed a cooperation for research on geosciences.
Later the King and the Queen visited the Media Tech Hub Potsdam, a network of companies, institutions and start-ups focused on media technology, virtual reality and digital technologies. During the visit they learned about the latest developments in digital media technology.
At noon the Royal Couple was reunited with the Prime Minister and his wife for a visit at the Sanssouci Palace which is on the UNESCO World Heritage List since 1990. Then the Prime Minister hosted a lunch for the Royal Couple.
