On May 8, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex participated in a photocall at Windsor Castle, where their newborn son, who has been named Archie Harrison, was shown to royal watchers around the world who have been eagerly waiting for the baby’s arrival.

It was also announced that he would not be titled, and will be known as Master Archie Mountbatten-Windsor during his childhood and Mr. Archie Mountbatten-Windsor in later life. It has been rumoured that he was born at the Portland Hospital in London, though this has not been confirmed, however Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie were also born at the Portland in 1988 and 1990 respectively.

Fans of the Netflix show have suggested that, after reports Meghan had watched Riverdale, the baby is named after one of the main characters, Archie Andrews. The show is based off the Archie Comics franchise and is one of the most popular Netflix original series. Harrison means “son of Henry” and many believe that the couple chose the name as a nod to baby Archie’s father.

The Queen and Duke of Edinburgh visited baby Archie in Windsor with his grandmother Doria Ragland that same day.
