Belgian King and Queen Begin State Visit to South Korea

At the invitation of the President of South Korea, Moon Jae-in, Their Majesties King Philippe and Queen Mathilde of The Belgians started today, Monday March 25, a four-day state visit to South Korea.

Upon the arrival at the airport of the capital Seoul, the Royal Couple was welcomed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Kang Kyung-wha, the Deputy Prime Minister for Protocol Affairs Chang Jae-bok and the Belgian ambassador to South Korea Peter Lescouhier.
Afterwards the King and the Queen paid a visit to the Korea Furniture Museum. The museum displays over 2,500 pieces of traditional Korean furniture and the pieces are displayed in 10 hanok, the traditional Korean houses.

The Royal Couple also attended a Korean tea ceremony at the museum.
