State Visit from Cabo Verde to the Netherlands – Last Day

The President of the Republic of Cabo Verde, Jorge Carlos de Almeida Fonseca, started the second and last day in the Netherlands with meetings with the President of the Senate of the States General and the President of the House of Representatives of the States General and then he visited the International Court of Justice and the International Criminal Court.
The President was also received by the Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte at the Binnenhof.
At lunchtime the Prime Minister hosted a governmental lunch. King Willem-Alexander was present as well. Topics of the lunch were the development issues and the climate change impacts in small island states.
In the afternoon the King accompanied the President to visit Rotterdam, where live the largest Cape Verdean community in the Netherlands.
In Rottedam the visit began at the World Port Center where the King and the President saw some examples of the crime-fighting partnership between the Dutch and Cabo Verdean police. Then they paid a visit at the at the Sparta Stadium where took place a meeting with the Cape Verdean community in the Netherlands. Afterwards King Willem-Alexander and the President visited the KNVB WorldCoaches clinic organized at the Sparta Stadium for 75 children who are members of football club FC Maense, a Rotterdam club with Cape Verde roots. During the visit was signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the chairman of the Cape Verde Football Association.
In the evening the President Fonseca and his wife hosted a concert for King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima. The concert, held at the Cruise Terminal in Rotterdam, was a Cape Verdean musical feast. Princess Beatrix was among the guests.
