On October 30, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge visited Basildon Sporting Village to meet children and young people who were a part of the Coach Core programme of The Royal Foundation.

Once they were inside the sports halls, the Duke and Duchess participated in various sports activities with the children, including tennis and indoor athletics. Together, as Duke versus Duchess, they participated in a game of boccia, a seated game where participants throw a ball to one another as quickly as possible.

Coach Core aims to train children and young people to become next generation coaches.

At today’s engagement, the couple met organisers from both Sport for Confidence and South Essex Gymnastics.
