On September 30, Nicholas de Roumanie Medforth-Mills (formerly Prince Nicolae of Romania) married Alina Maria Binder, a Romanian journalist, at Saint Elijah Church in Sinaia.

Today’s religious wedding, which is the first wedding of a member of the royal family to marry in Romania since Princess Ileana married Archduke Anton of Austria in 1931, started at 2:30pm and was attended by family and friends of the couple, and was a traditional Romanian service, with the choir from the Romanian Opera House performing.

Many members of the public turned out to watch the wedding outside the church in Sinaia, with monarchists chanting “long live the future king of Romania!” as they caught glimpses of the newly married couple. Alina wore a dress designed by the Romanian fashion house Salon, and had a bouquet which consisted of white peonies, jasmine, hydrangea and roses.

The bridesmaids were Elisabeth-Karina de Roumanie, Mihaela Serban, Raluca Tilea, Yvonne Persic, Denisa Fătusan and Ana-Maria Burcea; whilst the groomsmen were Mihai Binder, Andrew Griffiths, Charles-Antoine Uyttenhove, Bejan Alizaddeh, James Dalzell and Bogdan Macarie.

The couple stood on the balcony before they headed off to the reception which occurred at the Casino in Sinaia.
