Dutch Summer Photo Session in Wassenaar

The King and Queen of the Netherlands today posed for their annual summer photo session at their home in Wassenaar.
King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima posed in the gardens of Villa Eikenhorst along with their three daughters, Princesses Catharina-Amalia, Alexia and Ariane.
During the photo shoot the Royal couple spoke briefly to the press gathered for the event.
The Queen said that she received a lot of support following the death of her younger sister Inés, “I have received so many warm words, also from people who said they have experienced something like that” and when asked about how she is feeling the Queen said “It is difficult and it takes time”.
The Royal Couple also shared their plans for the holidays that include swimming, reading, relax, play games and weeks without smartphones and iPads.
Probably this was the last summer photo session at Villa Eikenhorst, the King said to the press that around Christmas the Royal Family will move to Huis Ten Bosch Palace, “We have had fifteen wonderful years here” the King stated, while Queen Maxima added “We have had many special moments here. The children were brought up here. We will leave this house with homesickness. It means a lot to us”.
