On March 9, Princess Madeleine, Duchess of Hälsingland and Gästrikland gave birth to a baby girl at the Danderyd Hospital in Stockholm.

The little princess is the second daughter of Princess Madeleine and her husband Chris O’Neill, and is a younger sister to Princess Leonore (b. 2013) and Prince Nicolas (b. 2015). She was born at 00:41 and weighed 7lbs 6oz.

Chris O’Neill gave a brief press conference after his daughter was born, upon which the first photo of her was released. She will be named at a meeting on Monday in the presence of King Carl Gustaf, her grandfather, and a Te Deum will be held for her on the same day.

The King and Queen as well as the Crown Princely family have already visited the new little princess, who is now at home.

I have to addmit, Princess Madeleine of Sweeden is my favourite from among all the princesses now existing in Europe. She is sweet natured, extremely beautiful and – so she seems – wonderfully friendly while still very royal. I wish Her all the best in the world, and the same to her newlyborn baby daughter. And, of course, to her older sibblings and her father as well.
