Belgian King and Queen Visit the German Speaking Community
Today, Tuesday February 27, King Philippe and Queen Maxima paid a visit to Saint Vith, a municipality located in the Province of Liege and one of the German-speaking communities of Belgium.
Upon their arrival in Saint Vith, the Royal Couple visited the St. Joseph’s Clinic. The Clinic, founded in 1976, is a non-profit organization that administers and maintains a hospital, several polyclinic services and consists of around 80 doctors and 440 employee. The King and the Queen were informed about the work of doctors and volunteers in assisting patients on their way to recovery.
Afterwards the Royal Couple went to the cultural and conference center Triangel, where they met with representatives of several voluntary organizations. Then the Royal Couple attended the performances of the music group Analog and the folklore dance group Vegder Diddeldöppcher.
The visit ended with a reception held at the Saint Vith’s Town Hall where the King and the Queen met with talents from the fields of sports, business and culture from the German-speaking community.
