Queen Mathilde’s Working Visit to Ghana Begins

As an Advocate for the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals, yesterday Wednesday February 7, Her Majesty Queen Mathilde of The Belgians started a three-day working visit to Ghana along with Alexander De Croo, Deputy Prime Minister of Belgium and Minister of Development Cooperation.

Upon her arrival at Kotoka International Airport in Accra, the capital of Ghana, the Queen was welcomed by the country’s Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs, Mohammed Tijani Habib, the Minister for Planning, Professor Gyan Baffour, the Belgian Ambassador to Ghana, Huyge Chartry, and the Chief of Protocol, Mr. Peprah Ampratwum.

Afterwards Queen Mathilde, along with Deputy Prime Minister De Croo, had a meeting with members of the Ghana government and people from civil society, where they discussed Ghana’s approach to implement the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
