Queen Jetsun Pema Inaugurates National Veterinary Hospital

The Queen of Bhutan inaugurated the new National Veterinary Hospital in Motithang on Monday.

Joined by Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay and Jaideep Sarkar, the Indian Ambassador to Bhutan, Queen Jetsun Pema was shown around the new three-storey facility, which will be able to better serve the increased needs of the animal population.

The Indian Ambassador was apresent as the inauguration was part of fiftieth anniversary of bilateral relations between India and Bhutan. The Indian Government donated 57 million Bhutanese Ngultrum (almost $USD900,000) for the construction of the hospital.
