Monaco’s youngest royals – three-year-old Hereditary Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella – made their debut appearance at the 42nd International Circus Festival of Monte-Carlo on Sunday, surprising royal watchers by at the afternoon performance.

The twins, both wearing the Circus Festival scarf, were brought along by their father, Prince Albert II, to join other members of the family at the event. During the show, Princess Gabriella happily sat with her Tante Stéphanie, enjoying the attentions of her cousins, Pauline Ducruet and Camille Gottlieb. Prince Jacques meanwhile sat with Prince Albert.

At one point, Jacques and Gabriella were taken from the audience by one of the animal handlers to feed a banana to a giraffe.

  1. Michael Carson says:

How can the Prince endorse young children being encouraged to support the terrible cruelty inflicted on captive wild animals in a circus ? Modern nations ban the use of animals in the circus. The Prince claims to care about the environment etc.

  2. Teddi Anne says:

    Amen, Michael! I SOOO agree!

  3. To the Past: I could call my twins Leo and Elisabeth.
