Prince Laurent Will Be Absent From King’s Feast

Prince Laurent, the enfant terrible of Belgium’s royal family, will be absent from the Te Deum for the King’s Feast on November 15th. The palace confirmed the absence to VTM News.

It is unclear why the prince will be absent. In September the attorney of Laurent said that the prince was too ill to meet the Belgian Prime Minister. The meeting was arranged after Laurent attended a reception at the Chinese embassy, without the knowledge of the prime minister. This happened while after a previous incident the prince agreed to inform the prime minister about all his meetings with foreign officials.

Last year the prince did attend the Te Deum in Brussels Cathedral of Saint Michael and Saint Gudula. His visit drew attention because the prince ignored his family completely. He even failed to greet his mother, who tried to grab his arm.
