Stephanie of Monaco Becomes Godmother of …. an Elephant

Princess Stephanie of Monaco became the godmother of the baby elephant ‘Ta Wan’ who was born in the zoo Pairi Daiza in Brugelette, Belgium. the princess shares the honor with Felix, a 3 year old boy who is fighting leukemia and lives in the village of Erpe-Mere.

Ta Wan was born on September 19th and weighs 170 kilos. The princess visited the elephants yesterday and met with their caretakers. The princess cares deeply about elephants and founded the organization ‘Baby &  Nepal’ in 2013. The organization was named after two elephants that were saved from being euthanized due to old age.
