Danish Crown Princely Family Open New LEGO House

On Thursday in Billund, the Crown Prince and Princess of Denmark brought along their four children for the official opening of LEGO House, a new 12,000 square metre facility created by children’s toy giant LEGO as a space to foster their ‘learning through play’ philosophy.

Crown Princess Mary was joined on stage by Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine during the official ceremony, with the six-year-old twins placing the final LEGO brick on a figure created onstage throughout the ceremony.

The family was then given a tour of LEGO House – which is divided into four ‘experience’ zones each focusing on a specific competency – before stopping in at the Masterpiece Gallery, a exhibition hall showcasing LEGO creativity (currently the home of several huge LEGO dinosaurs!). Prince Christian, Princess Isabella and the twins got to end their visit in the LEGO Local Community Engagement Tent, where they spent time making their own LEGO creations.
