Carl Philip and Sofia Take Their Little Prince Home

On Friday, Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia returned to their home at Villa Solbacken with their newborn son, who was born on the morning of August 31.

Prince Carl Philip had announced the gender of his and Princess Sofia’s second child during a press conference on Thursday afternoon, telling reporters the couple’s elder child Prince Alexander had a new little brother.

The newborn weighed 3.4kg and was 49cm long.

The baby Prince’s name, and the Duchy he will hold, will be announced on Monday during a special Council of State at the Royal Palace of Stockholm. A traditional Te Deum thanksgiving service will be held afterwards.
