Prince Ernst August of Hanover has married Ekaterina Malysheva in a religious ceremony at the Marktkirche in Hanover today.

With the sun shining, the couple arrived separately to the church just before noon: Prince Ernst August with his mother, Chantal Hochuli; Ms Malysheva on the arm of her father, Igor. One hour later, the bride and groom exited the church as husband and wife.

The Prince and his new Princess then travelled in a horse-drawn carriage to Herrenhäuser Castle for a reception.

Ekaterina wore a gown designed by her friend, Sandra Mansour. It featured a full skirt, sheer sleeves, and was heavily embroidered with crystal and pearl appliqués. Her veil, embroidered in a similar pattern to the gown, was anchored by a diamond tiara from her husband’s House: the Hanoverian Floral Tiara.

Among the 600 guests at the ceremony were the groom’s siblings, Prince Christian and Princess Alexandra, his step-siblings, the Casiraghis (Andrea, Pierre and Charlotte), the Prince and Princess of Prussia, the Fürst zu Schaumburg-Lippe, Hereditary Prince Hubertus and Hereditary Princess Kelly of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha, Princess Maria Theresia of Thurn und Taxis and her husband Hugo Wilson, Princess Elisabeth of Thurn und Taxis, and Crown Prince and Princess Pavlos of Greece with their children.

This evening, a celebration will take place at Marienburg Castle, the Hanover family’s seat.
