While out cycling in Bavaria two weeks ago, King Maha Vajiralongkorn of Thailand and his entourage were ‘fired upon’ with rubber pellets from an airsoft gun by two teenagers, a spokesperson for the prosecution office in Landshut said on Tuesday.

The two boys – aged 14 and 13 – were in a garden along a street in Erding, Bavaria when they shot the bullets at a passing group of cyclists, as well as a car carrying the King later in the day. Neither time was the King hit, and none of his entourage or any bystanders were injured.

Thomas Steinkraus-Koch, the prosecution office spokesperson, said that aides for King Maha Vajiralongkorn informed the police department His Majesty did not wish to press charges.
