The Swedish Royal Family have today celebrated the country’s National Day with the usual celebrations in several cities.

Prince Carl Philip kicked off the day in Stockholm, opening the doors to the Royal Palace for the traditional open day to the Palace where members of the public can visit for free. King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia were meanwhile in Kronberg, where they visited Kosta Boda to mark its 275th anniversary before traditional festivities in Linnaeus Park.

In Järfälla, Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel attended celebrations at Görvälns Castle. The Princess addressed the crowd following the municipality’s citizenship ceremony, saying that the Swedish community was made up of people of many differences which is “what makes it strong!”

The Royal Family in the afternoon traveled via horse-drawn carriage from Stockholm to Skansen for the traditional National Day concert.
