Queen Elizabeth Visits Drapers’ Hall To Mark Seven Decades of Membership
It was a special visit for Queen Elizabeth to Drapers’ Hall in London today, as she celebrated seventy years of association with the Worshipful Company of Drapers, an organisation dating back to the 1360s when it was formed as a trade association of wool and cloth merchants.
The Queen was made a Freeman of the Company, one of the ‘Great Twelve’ livery companies, on May 20, 1947.
During a tour of the Hall, Queen Elizabeth was shown a photograph taken on the day of her admission ahead of a lunch with the Company’s Court of Assistance.
