A special garden party was held at Buckingham Palace on Thursday to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents. The Duke of York and his daughter Princess Eugenie hosted the event on behalf of the Queen.

The royal duo mingled with guests who have links to the charity, which was founded in early 1917 in response to an increase in car accidents on streets. Its aim is to “save lives and prevent life-changing injuries which occur as a result of accidents.”

Princess Eugenie wore a lovely shade of cobalt blue, but the abundance of material on her lace dress was overpowering to her frame.

Queen Elizabeth is its patron.
