Sheikh Mohammed, Moulay Rachid Lay Foundation Stone in Rabat
H.H General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, crown prince of Abu Dhabi and deputy supreme commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and HRH Prince Moulay Rachid of Morocco laid the foundation stone of the Bab al-Bahar, a mega development in the Moroccon capital Rabat.
At the laying stone ceremony, Sheikh Mohammed and Prince Moulay Rachid viewed a presentation on the different phases of the project. It is being constructed by Abu Dhabi-based Al Maabar International Investments. The development aims to boost Morocco’s tourism industry.
The project consists of 55000 square meters of residential and commercial buildings, a 5-star hotel, hotel apartments, office buildings, shopping centers, a theatre, arts city, a tunnel, a bridge and full amenities and facilities will be built on an area of 7 million square feet on the estuary of Bouregrag River on the Mediterranean. The project is worth more than US$ 750 million and is scheduled for completion in 2012.
Present at the ceremony were a few Sheikhs, ministers and officials.
