Rania Honours 30 Ahel Al Himmeh Finalists
Her Majesty Queen Rania honoured 30 finalists in the the Ahel Al Himmeh award’s on Tuesday. The event which took place at Yarmouk University.
Her Majesty said in a speech “Warm congratulations to our 30 finalists. You are all winners. Now that we have finished this difficult task, you have to select the final 10.” She added “By nominating an individual, you are acknowledging and appreciating the traits that make an ordinary person one of Jordan’s heroes… and in acknowledging excellence in others, you become a partner in that excellence, their success becomes yours as well.”
The the Ahel Al Himmeh award was launched in last March on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of His Majesty King Abdullah’s accession to the Throne. The award highlight the accomplishments of groups and individuals who have helped their local communities
“Ahel Al Himmeh recognises the efforts of the most altruistic in our communities; this process, this award, spotlights their efforts and, I hope, will encourage others to support them as they work to build a stronger and more prosperous Jordan,” Her Majesty said about the award.
The committee received over 45,000 applications.
