State Visit from Argentina to The Netherlands: Last Day
The second and last day of the State Visit from Argentina started today, Tuesday March 28, with separate events for President Macri and his wife Juliana Awada, who had a busy schedule with Her Majesty Queen Máxima.
The first event for the Queen and First Lady was a working visit to the Oranje Huis (Orange House) in Amsterdam. The Orange House is a women’s shelter for combating domestic violence created by the Blijf Groep, an organization that works in cases of domestic violence. During the visit the Queen and Ms Awada participated in a roundtable meeting with the experts that work in the facility.
Afterwards Queen Máxima and the First Lady paid a visit to the Center for Youth and Family (YGC) in The Hague. This Center provides health care, educational and parenting support for children, young people and their parents. The Queen and Ms Awada spoke with the professionals that work in the Center and also talked with the parents that benefit of the services of the Center.
Later Queen Máxima and Juliana Awada visited the Mauritshuis Art Museum in The Hague where, guided by the director Emilie Gardener, they viewed the collections of the best of Dutch paintings from the Golden Age including Rembrandt, Vermeer, Fabritius and Potter.
In the meantime President Macri had several institutional meetings with Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte, the President of the Senate, Ankie Broekers-Knol, and the chairman of the House of Representatives, Khadija Arib. The President also paid a visit to the International Criminal Court (ICC) and to the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW).
At lunchtime the Prime Minister hosted a luncheon in the Parliament Bulding at the presence of Their Majesties the King and the Queen, President Macri and the First Lady.
In the afternoon the Royal Couple accompanied the President and his wife for a visit to the Port of Rotterdam. A boat ride took place and was signed a memorandum of understanding for strategic partnership between the Port of Buenos Aires and the Port of Rotterdam.

In the evening there was a return reception hosted by President Macri and the First Lady that was held at the Diligentia theater in The Hague where a ballet performance took place. At the event were present Their Majesties the King and the Queen, Princess Beatrix, Prince Constantijn and Princess Margarita of Bourbon-Parma along with her husband Tjalling ten Cate.
