At the Lienzo Norte Exhibition and Conference Centre in Ávila on Wednesday, Queen Letizia of Spain spoke at the ‘Women and Disability: We Crossed Borders’ conference on its final day.

She said that it was of great importance that “no disabled women should be marginalized, harassed, mistreated or discriminated against.” The purpose of the two-day conference is to discuss “strategies and actions that contribute to the equality and empowerment of women with disabilities”.
