February 10, 1929: In Palermo, Italy, Prince Christopher of Greece and Denmark and Princess Françoise of Orléans were married in a civil wedding ceremony. Their religious ceremony, which took much negotiating due to the couple’s differing religions, took place the following day.

It was the second marriage for Prince Christopher, who had married the wealthy American Nancy Leeds in 1920 (she passed away in 1923).

Christopher and Françoise had one child, Prince Michael.
