Queen Maxima Meets Argentine President Mauricio Macri

Her Majesty Queen Maxima completed today, Wednesday October 12, her two-day working visit to Argentina in her capacity of Special Advocate of the UN Secretary General for Inclusive Finance for Development.
The first event for Queen Maxima was a visit at the Banco Central de la República Argentina where she had a meeting with Federico Sturzenegger, the Governor of the bank and other autorities.


Afterward the Queen headed for a meeting at the Ministry of Economy and Public Finances with the Minister Alfonso Prat-Gay. Topics of both meetings were improve the accessibility of financial services and the plans of the government of Argentina to develop a national strategy for inclusive finance.


At around noon Queen Maxima was received by the Argentine President Mauricio Macri in the presidencial residence Quinta de Olivos, in the north of Buenos Aires. After posing for the official picture along with Juliana Tawada, the wife of the President, and their daughter Antonia, the Queen and the President had a work meeting.

The meeting focused on financial inclusion programs. Present at the meeting was the Vice President of Argentina Gabriella Michetti, Susanna Malcorra, Foreign Minister of Argentina, the Minister of Social Development, Carolina Stanley and the Secretary of Strategic Affairs, Fulvio Pompeo.
Later the Argentine President hosted a lunch for the Queen.

Queen Maxima concluded the working visit in Argentina with a press conference along with the Vice President of Argentina Gabriella Michetti. Answering to the questions of the journalists, the Queen praised the work done by the Argentine government to accelerate the financial inclusion in the country.
