It’s Reading Time for Princess Laurentien, Countess Leonore and Count Claus-Casimir
As Honorary Chairman of the Reading and Writing Foundation, Her Royal Highness Princess Laurentien attended a books reading event at the theme park “Efteling”, yesterday Saturday October 1st. The princess was accompanied by her two younger children, Countess Leonore and Count Claus-Casimir.
The event took place at the theater of the theme park and about 250 children attended. Princess Laurentien read from the fairytale book De Sprookjessprokkelaar, a book written by the Princess along with the children’s author Paul van Loon who were also present at the event. The book is about a fairy tale library situated in an old, abandoned castle and teaches the importance of reading and reading aloud.
The event marked the conclusion of the annual cooperation between the Reading and Writing Foundation and the theme park “Efteling” that each year organize events together to promote reading among the children.

The Reading and Writing Foundation, was founded on May 27, 2004 by Princess Laurentien. It aims to prevent illiteracy encouraging reading among children and parents. Since January 1, 2014, Princess Laurentien honorary chairman of the foundation.Filed under The Netherlands
