Dutch Princess Beatrix was in Slovakia today, where she opened the exhibition ‘European Stars: Miró & Cobra’ at the Danubiana Meulensteen Art Museum in Bratislava.

Wearing a lovely purple patterned outfit along with matching customary cheese wheel-esque hat (after an outfit change! How Bea), the Princess viewed the exhibition along with the Slovakian Minister for Culture. ‘European Stars’ showcases the works of Spain’s Joan Miró as well as those of the group CoBrA (Copenhagen-Brussels-Amsterdam) and highlights the relationship of style between the works of the two.

The opening of the exhibition served as a symbolic hand-over of sorts according to the Dutch Royal House, as Slovakia takes over the Presidency of the Council of the European Union from the Netherlands tomorrow.

She also had an audience with the Slovak President, Andrej Kiska.
