Luxembourg’s National Day Celebrations Kick Off
The two-day celebrations of Luxembourg’s National Day began today, with visits to Troisvierges and Esch-sur-Alzette by the Grand Ducal and Hereditary Grand Ducal Couples.
Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria Teresa first signed the Golden Book at the Town Hall, before 180 school children from the area performed them a song about welcoming people from all parts of the world. There was then wreath-laying ceremony before the couple headed over to the Saint-André Church.

Meanwhile, Guillaume and Stephanie were in Esch-sur-Alzette with Prime Minister Xavier Bettel, meeting a number of locals before attending an official reception. Stephanie wore a pink knee-length coat with navy beading down the front.
In the evening, the entire family came out for the traditional torchlit procession through Luxembourg City to the grandstand at Place de la Constitution.Filed under Luxembourg
