The Danes Are Now Instagramers and Facebookers
Earlier today, Instagram and Facebook pages for the Danish Royal Family went live, bringing the Danes in line with several other royal families in their use of social media.
A photograph of Queen Margrethe II taken by Crown Prince Frederik at Amalienborg was the first photo uploaded on the Instagram account a few hours ago, while a video following the Queen through one of the Palaces before having the photo taken was uploaded on to Facebook. The video also documents historical points the royals have met with regards to technology and media.
“The Danish media consumption is moving and the Royal Family would like to be where the Danes are. With the new platforms, we can complement the other media opportunities for a more direct telling of the royal family’s works and their role in society to the Danes,” Lord Chamberlain Michael Ehrenreich said in a statement.
