A Royal York Garden Party

The Duke of York, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie attended the annual Not Forgotten Association garden party at Buckingham Palace today.

The Not Forgotten Association’s garden parties at Buckingham Palace date back to the 1920s, and the first one was hosted by the Queen Mother to mark the contribution of those in the armed forces. But as the Queen scales back on her royal duties in her 90th year, she has passed on the role of host to her son Prince Andrew.

The charity provides entertainment, leisure and recreation for the serving wounded, injured or sick and for ex-service men and women with disabilities, and the annual garden party is its biggest event of the year.

Most comments have unfortunately been aimed at the York girls’ fashion rather than their contributions to the Association.
