The couple were also accompanied by their children, Crown Prince Hussein, Princess Salma and Prince Hashem, who made his first appearance in the celebrations this year.
During the ceremony King Abdullah II distributed medals on distinguished organizations and individuals in recognition of their great achievements in different fields.
This year’s celebration is remarkable for the Hashemite Royal Family as it coincides with the Centenary of the Great Arab Revolt, which was launched by their great-great grandfather Sharif Hussein Bin Ali. It will also be followed by a huge military parade on June 2nd.
Following the ceremony, Queen Rania shared a family selfie and commented: “Some things never change; this photo and our love for Jordan… Happy Independence Day! #May25JO #IndependenceDay #Pride #Jordan #LoveJO”
