Having a GrandFest of a Time As Camilla is Introduced to a Unique Type of Wool

The Duchess of Cornwall was slightly taken aback today as she attended the opening of GrandFest 2016 held at the Geffrey Museum, learning from one exhibitor precisely what her knitting was made of.

Elizabeth Lee told the Duchess how she thought it was a “shame to waste” the hair she brushes from her pet Samoyeds so she decided one day to spin it into wool for her knitting. “It must be very therapeutic. I think I would get myself tied up in knots!” Camilla said to Ms Lee as she looked at the jumpers and scarves she had made.

Camilla also met other crafters and volunteers who will be holding masterclasses during the event.

GrandFest is a festival that celebrates the elderly’s craft skills, and is arranged by the Royal Voluntary Service, of which the Duchess is President.
