The Prince of Wales was reminded of his childhood contraction of the chicken pox today during a visit to Stoke-on-Trent.

Prince Charles was being shown around Middleport Pottery when he caught sight of an April 1959 edition of The Evening Sentinal that gave an update of his sickness at the time.

Among other places the Prince visited during his time in Stoke-on-Trent were the Wedgwood Institute and the Burslem School of Art. He also received Europa Rostra’s Cultural Heritage prize for his work with The Prince’s Regeneration Trust, which helps to rescue old buildings.
