Princess Haya Awarded Local Sports Personality Award

Princess Haya Bint Al Hussein, wife of His Highness Sheikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai, was honoured with the ‘Local Sports Personality’ award today. Princess Haya received a standing ovation as she accepted the Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Creative Sports Awards from Sheikh Mohammad. HRH Received the award in her recognition of her contribution to equestrian sport.

Princess Haya served as the FEI president from 2007 to 2014. She also served on the IOC’s Athletics Commission between 2005 to 2010 and on the Commission for Culture and Olympic Education, Advisory Board of the Economist Global Sports Conference, President of the Dubai Organising Committee for Sportaccord 2010.In June 2010, Princess Haya became a global patron for the World Academy of Sport.
