New Canadian PM Received by the Queen at Buckingham Palace

Canada’s new Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, has been received by Queen Elizabeth at Buckingham Palace today, over three decades since he first met the Queen during his father’s time as Prime Minister.

“Nice to see you again … but under different circumstances,” the monarch said to her 12th Canadian Prime Minister, who laughingly responded “You were much taller than me the last time we met.”

The duo had a private audience, before Prime Minister Trudeau introduced his family – wife Sophie and two of their three children, Ella-Grace and Hadrien, to the Queen.
