Pierre and Beatrice’s Wedding Weekend in the Borromean Islands
Pierre Casiraghi and Beatrice Borromeo hosted a lavish wedding celebration on the private islands of the bride’s family in Lake Maggiore, Italy yesterday.
After a pre-wedding dinner on Friday night, the couple were married in a religious ceremony on Isolino di San Giovanni that was attended by family and close friends. Beatrice wore the first of two bespoke Armani Privé wedding gowns for the ceremony, an ivory Chantilly lace gown layered with silk chiffon. A silk tulle veil was anchored by clusters of floral diamond pins over a simple up-do.
That evening, guests were transported across the water in boats to Rocca d’Angera, for the wedding reception held at the island’s centuries-old castle. Locals came out to catch a glimpse of the bride and groom as Pierre and Beatrice arrived on the island, and walked from the dock to the castle entrance.
Beatrice’s second gown was made of silk tulle and featured a v-neckline and a flowing skirt, with two pieces of tulle attached to the back of her shoulders creating a semi-cape flowing behind her.
Among the guests attending the ceremony were the groom’s mother, Princess Caroline, his siblings, his aunt Princess Stephanie and her children, Norway’s Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit, Princess Claire of Luxembourg, singer Lana Del Ray, Poppy Delevigne, Margherita Missoni, Diane von Furstenberg, and Alex Delal.
