For the second year, Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit hosted a football match at their home, Skaugum.

The ‘friendly’ was played between Team Skaugum and the Brane Tigers, a team of players who have intellectual disabilities and first represented Norway at the 2003 Special Olympics.

Team Skaugum – who lost 4-3 – was made up of the Crown Prince Couple and two of their children, Princess Ingrid Alexandra and Prince Sverre Magnus, alongside Real Madrid midfielder Martin Ødegaard and two former professional players, Jan Åge Fjørtoft and Frode Grodås.

“Football really is for everyone. It is the enthusiasm that is at the centre,” Crown Princess Mette-Marit said of the event.
