Danes At Concert Marking 100th Anniversary of 1915 Constitution
Members of the Danish Royal Family were tonight present at a concert hosted by Danmarks Radio to celebrate the centenary of the 1915 Constitution.
Queen Margrethe, Crown Prince Frederik, Crown Princess Mary, Prince Joachim, Princess Marie and Princess Benedikte attended the event at the Tivoli Hotel and Convention Centre, alongside Danish Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt.
Tomorrow, the royal family will attend several other events to mark the anniversary on what is Constitution Day in Denmark.
The 1915 changes to the Danish Constitution gave women the right to vote, and also amended the manner in which the constitution can be changed (it stated that in addition to parliamentary approval, a referendum must also be passed in favour of any change).
