Prince Carl Philip Opens New Queen Hedvig Eleonora Exhibition
Sweden’s Prince Carl Philip today opened another exhibition on Queen Hedvig Eleonora to mark the 300th anniversary of her death later this year.
The Prince was on hand at Strömsholm Palace, where he was greeted by a number of local school children and kindergardeners. “What fun that you are here!” he exclaimed as he stopped to chat with them quickly.
Heading inside the Palace, musical performances by Olle Hermansson and Åsa Karlberg took place before Prince Carl Philip declared the exhibition – titled The Art of Riding and The Princely Role – open. The curator of the exhibition, Leila Tuuli from the Royal Collections, said that the theme of the exhibition was chosen because “the main task of a ruler was to defend his country and the horse was a war machine.”
Carl Philip was then given a tour of the exhibition.Filed under Sweden
