Princess Kako Visits Imperial Burial Ground
Japan’s Princess Kako today paid her respects to her ancestors with a visit to the Musashi Imperial Graveyard in Hachiōji.
The graveyard is the mausoleum complex which contains the final resting places of the Princess’s great-grandparents and great-great-grandparents: Emperor Hirohito and Empress Kōjun, and Emperor Taishō and Empress Teimei.
Princess Kako, who turned twenty on December 29 and has thus begun undertaking official duties for the Imperial Family, wore a floor-length black overcoat paired with a matching black hat and umbrella.
