The Duchess of Cambridge was today present for the launch of East Anglia Children’s Hospices campaign to raise funds for their new facility.

Wearing a simple red shift dress by Katherine Hooker, the Duchess was greeted by a group of local school children upon her arrival to the Royal Norfolk Showgrounds around midday.

Catherine spoke with volunteers, supporters and families who have benefited from the services EACH provides prior to the official campaign launch. During the launch, Leigh Smith, who lost her infant daughter at the beginning of the year to a rare heart condition, spoke of her loss and the respect and dignity with which her daughter and family were treated by EACH. Before she left the event, the Duchess sought out Mrs Smith to offer her condolences.

EACH is aiming to raise the £10million required to build a new hospice at Framingham Pigot, Norfolk.
