Princess Madeleine, Duchess of Hälsingland and Gästrikland’s 32nd Birthday

On 10 June, Princess Madeleine, Duchess of Hälsingland and Gästrikland celebrated her 32nd birthday.

Princess Madeleine was born on 10 June 1982 at 7:05pm CEST at Drottningholm Palace in Sweden. She was christened in the Royal Chapel in Stockholm on 31 August 1982. Her godparents are Andreas, Prince of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha, Walther L. Sommerlath, Princess Benedikte of Denmark and Princess Christina of Sweden. Her full name is Madeleine Thérèse Amelie Josephine.

Princess Madeleine began her education at Västerled Parish Pre-School, although in the autumn of 1989, she started to attend the Smedslättsskolan in Bromma, at junior level. For her senior level, she attended Carlssons School in Stockholm, before moving on to Enskilda Gymnasiet in Stockholm, in which she graduated from in 2001.

On 8 June 2013, Princess Madeleine married Christopher O’Neill, an American businessman. Their wedding took place at the Royal Chapel in Stockholm. On 20 February 2014, their daughter, Princess Leonore, Duchess of Gotland was born in New York.

    It was extremely disappointing to see her give birth to her first child in a foreign country. A potential heir to the throne should be born in the nation of its heritage. I must admit that her choice of the US was grating to me. It showed a remarkable disinterest in the horrors that nation has visited upon the World for generations. She could have chosen better!
