Zara Phillips was born on 15 May 1981 at St. Mary’s Hospital in London, England. She is the youngest daughter and child of Anne, Princess Royal and her former husband, Captain Mark Phillips. She was christened on 27 July 1981 and her godparents were The Duke of York, The Countess of Lichfield, Helen, Lady Stuart, Andrew Parker Bowels and Hugh Thomas. Her full name is Zara Anne Elizabeth and according to reports, her uncle, The Prince of Wales, chose her first name. She has an elder brother, Peter, who was born in 1977. She also has two half-sisters (Mark Phillips’s children), Felicity Tonkins (born in 1985) and Stephanie Phillips (born in 1997).

In 2011, Zara married Mike Tindall, a rugby union player at Canongate Kirk in Edinburgh, Scotland. The couple have one child together, Mia Grace Tindall, who was born on 17 January 2014.
